2. Properties

Main Usage: Making of electric furnace bottom & slope

Maximum Refractoriness: 1800℃(SK-40)

Operation Consumption: about 2800 kg/m3

Operation Method: Dry Ramming

3. Special Features

(1). This product is a kind of monolithic refractory material. Therefor it is not limited by the furnace mode or the size. It can fit for the usage on bottom & slope in each grade of high power electric furnace(HP), super high power electric furnace (VHP) & direct currency electric furnace (DC) etc.

(2). This product is made of high grade MgO-Cao-Fe2O3 based synthetic raw material. Its size distribution structure is scientifically calculated & controlled. The product therefor has the features of reliable quality, quick sinter, high refractoriness & slag resistance.

(3). It is easy to operate. It doesn't complicated operation machinery or special trained technician.

(4). Since the product is a dry-ramming material, it doesn't need to heat-up or to add water for operation. Just to press the material to firmly solid according to the shape of the furnace bottom & slope, then it is workable.

(5). The product is free from poison & smacks. It does not contain any composition which may be a harm to steels.

4. Operation Method:

(1). Prepare enough ramming material according to the size of the furnace bottom. Moistured material is not allowed to use. Other material is not allowed to be added in. Get ready pneumatic hammers & measure-use rulers. Get ready steel sticks (?mm) for ramming quality inspection.

(2). Clean the permanent lining brick layer. Expose the bricks well. When operation on the original working lining layer, residual materials on the surface be cleared away.

(3). Total ramming thickness is not less than 470-500mm, Ram one layer after the other. Each layer be about 120mm. Use pneumatic hammers for spiral ramming or use crane-hanged iron to press firmly.

(4). Harrow 20mm cross or X shape grooves on the surface of each finished ramming layer, then input the layer or ramming material & press firm. This makes a good combination of the two layer. (Special attention shall be paid to press the edges firmly solid).

(5). After the ramming is finished, take out the mold plates carefully. Levering is absolutely forbidden. Then trim to curve shape according to the measurements of the furnace slope.

6. Usage & Maintenance

(1). To protect the furnace bottom & slopes, they shall be completely covered with thin steel plates for the first melting service after bottom & slope construction operation.

(2). For the first melting service campaign, charge falling compact shall be reduced as much as possible. Heavy material impact is strictly prohibited.

(3).For the first melting service campaign, lime is not to be added to the furnace bottom; Oxygen is not to be blew; natural melting is assumed; iron ore is not to be added for oxidation; less or no cast iron is to be fed; reduction time is stretched longer; operate electricity shall be low in voltage & low in currency.

(4). For the first three campaigns, feed with residual liquid steel. This is good to keep the temperature.

(5). When pits are coming out from the furnace bottom after a long period of service time, blow the pits with compressed air first, then throw ramming maternal to the cleaned pits (better be pressed firm by crane-hanged iron).
