mix is one of the monolithic refractories our company produces.
It is specially made for the half-dry method fettling go the easy
damaging positions like furnace wall, slag line etc. in the arc
furnaces to prolong the service life of the monolithic furnace body,
to reach the target of reducing cost & increasing economic benefit.

2. Binder
The binder or this product is made according
to world advanced batch design. Take into consideration that electric
furnace steel making is mainly to produce special steels & the
process is relatively sensitive to phosphorus content, to raise
up the product's generality, we use sodium silicate as the principal
part of binder to guarantee the quality of the steel. To raise up
adhesion rate and to guarantee the gunning mix be well sintered,
additives like spinel, bentonite, refractory clay etc. are added
to the product.
3. Raw Material:
The product takes dead burned magnesite as its
main raw material. It is MgO over 91% dead burned magnesite that
be crushed & screened into all sizes of aggregate, while fused
magnesite be as the high matrix materials. Refractoriness &
erosion resistance of the gunning mix is there-of guaranteed.

To be a good gunning mix, not only the aggregate
shall be selected well, but also the high matrix powder plays a
very important role. Without the high matrix powder being as a backing,
the adhesive proportion & the erosion resistance of the gunning
mix shall be reduced greatly. Therefor, this product has very strict
control on the powder on mesh size, quantity & MgO content.
The basic part of the powder feed is super quality fused magnesite
to guarantee the quality of the gunning mix.
4. Construction Requirement
Beside of the quality of the gunning mix itself,
during gunning process, the amount of gunning, the pressure of the
compressed air & the proportion of water added, they all play
each a role of utmost importance to perform a good product property.
Gunning has to follow the principles of uniformity, rapidity &
shallowity. Non-uniform gunning or too thick gunning may cause dropping
off & per unit steel consumption is then increased. Benefit
shall be influenced. Normally per ton steel consumption is around
5kg.
The product uses 4mm maximum critical size plus
5 grades of size composition therefor the rolling characteristics
are fine. The gunning machine's working compressed air pressure
is best to be 0.3MPa. A low pressure may cause the gun blocked up
or a low adhesive proportion, while a high pressure may cause the
material be reflected & gunning effect is there-of influenced.
